Looking for your next great read? My Top 5 Picks of 2025

With Christmas right around the corner, life is starting to feel a little busier, in that festive, chaotic, wonderful way December always brings. 🧑‍🎄

Personally, I’m counting down the days until we fly to Florida later this week for the holidays. I am SO looking forward to sun, sand, palm trees, and a chance to reset. 🏖️

I’ve always been a big reader, and these days I’m mostly an audiobook listener, usually during my morning walks and what feels like constant driving to my son’s never-ending soccer training.

This year, I came across some incredible books that have really shifted how I think, work, and live. So I wanted to share the top 5 books that made the biggest impact on me in 2025. Maybe they’ll inspire you too!

1. The Let Them Theory — Mel Robbins

I loved, loved, loved this book. And I just love everything about Mel Robbins and how she has a way of getting straight to the heart of what holds people back…without judgment.

This book especially helped me realize that you can only control yourself and your own actions –  and to stop trying to control other people. The key phrase is: Let Them.

Let them do what they want.
And let me take the actions that are within my control – either to change my situation or to accept it with more peace.

Bonus:  even my son says this to me now since he was “forced” to listen to it in the car with me.  A good way to subtly influence my kids by playing these audiobooks during car rides. 😉

2. The Five Types of Wealth — Sahil Bloom

Transformational. This book put into words something I’ve believed for a long time: wealth is so much more than money.

Sahil shares the five types of wealth:

  • Financial Wealth
  • Social Wealth (relationships, community)
  • Physical Wealth (health, energy)
  • Time Wealth (freedom, flexibility)
  • Mental Wealth (clarity, peace, emotional resilience)

What I loved most is how it reframes success into something holistic. This is the kind of wealth I want to build, and what I always encourage others to build too.

3. Main Street Millionaire — Codie Sanchez

This book was a game changer for me. It reminded me so much of The Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki — where the real opportunities exist on the right side of the quadrant: business owners + investors.

Business buying has been on my radar all year because of this book, and I even submitted an LOI earlier this month (still being negotiated, but I think we are too far apart on my valuation price vs. what the Seller wants).

Storage also fits into this same category – commercial real estate is evaluated as a business, and I’ve always treated my entire real estate portfolio that way.

This book reminded me to see how aligned I already am with this path.

4. The Gap and The Gain — Dan Sullivan & Dr. Benjamin Hardy

This one was a mindset shift that I really needed.  Instead of focusing on the distance between where I am and where I want to be (the Gap), I’ve learned to measure progress by how far I’ve already come (the Gain).

This mindset has been especially grounding in a year full of pivots, growth, and new opportunities.

5. The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire — Deepak Chopra

An old favourite, and I reread it again this year.

It’s the perfect blend of spiritual grounding and scientific explanation — reminding me that everything I need to create an abundant life is already within me.

It’s one of those books that never loses its impact, no matter how many times I return to it.

As we wrap up 2025, I’m grateful for every lesson, challenge, and breakthrough these books helped unlock.
