Why 2025 is the Year to Think Outside the (Storage) Box! 📦

Happy 2025!!  Hope you’re having a wonderful start to the new year!  🎉 

I spent the last month of 2024 in beautiful, sunny and warm Florida! It was so nice to spend an extended period of time there, “living like a local”, and I finally got to experience the holidays surrounded by palm trees, sunshine and the beach!  🏝 😎

It was also a great setting to reflect on all that happened during 2024 and to plan ahead for all the exciting projects and goals that I am working on in 2025.

My real-estate investing journey has evolved as I am now moving into the commercial real-estate space, with self-storage investing being my focus.  Why the switch? Let me break it down for you:

Why Commercial Real Estate Over Residential? 🏦

  1. Bigger Opportunities, Bigger Rewards: While residential real estate is a solid foundation, commercial real estate offers scalability and higher income potential. With larger properties come larger revenue streams and greater economies of scale.   2. Valuation Advantages: Commercial properties are valued based on the income they produce, not just comparable sales in the area. This gives us more control over increasing property value by improving operations and boosting revenue.

Self-storage is one of the most recession-resistant asset classes. Whether the economy is booming or slowing down, people always need storage—for downsizing, life transitions, or simply decluttering. And with minimal operating costs and consistent demand, self-storage offers a steady cash flow that’s hard to beat.
